Panax Ginseng Capsules • 1,400 mg • 20 % Ginsenosides

The Root from East Asia

  • True ginseng takes time: the root is only harvested after four to six years in the soil. It is precisely this long growth phase that makes the raw material so valuable.
  • Panax ginseng, also known as Korean ginseng, belongs to the ivy family. The fleshy main root is the part used.
  • Its characteristic constituents are ginsenosides - a group of plant saponins, of which more than 100 individual compounds have now been described. The genus name Panax derives from the Greek panakeia; ginseng is among the longest-documented medicinal plants of East Asia.

20 % ginsenosides - transparently quantified

  • Each daily dose provides 1,400 mg of panax ginseng root extract with 280 mg of ginsenosides, corresponding to a standardisation of 20 %.
  • With Green Naturals Panax Ginseng the ginsenoside content is quantified at 280 mg per daily dose - which cannot be said of every supplier, as many sell ground root with no active-compound figure at all, or offer a standardisation of only 4 to 8 %.
  • Ginsenosides are glycosides and are only converted into their more readily absorbed metabolites by the gut microbiota. In 2021, Zhang et al. described in the Journal of Ginseng Research how the composition of the gut flora influences this biotransformation of ginsenoside Rb1 into compound K, and thereby co-determines bioavailability.1
  • This explains why taking the capsules with a meal, and using them regularly, makes sense.

Controlled origin and verified purity

  • The roots come from controlled cultivation with a multi-year growing period and documented traceability - a factor that significantly influences ginsenoside content.
  • Every batch is laboratory-tested for ginsenoside content, heavy metals, pesticide residues and microbiological purity, and released with a certificate of analysis (COA).
  • A clean formulation without fillers: panax ginseng extract and a plant-based capsule shell of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. Vegan and free from magnesium stearate.

What is panax ginseng?

Panax ginseng (Panax ginseng) is the root of true or Korean ginseng, a member of the ivy family (Araliaceae). Its characteristic constituents are ginsenosides, a group of triterpenoid saponins. Our root extract is standardised to 20 % ginsenosides.

How does panax ginseng work?

Ginseng is one of the classic adaptogens and one of the longest scientifically studied plants of East Asia. In the gut, the ginsenosides are converted by the microbiota into more readily absorbed metabolites such as compound K.

What is panax ginseng used for?

Many people deliberately incorporate ginseng into a balanced diet and a health-oriented lifestyle, particularly during more demanding periods.

Which panax ginseng is the best?

The decisive point of comparison is the ginsenoside content. Many products sit at 4 to 8 %, or use ground root with no figure stated at all. Also look at the growing period of the root, controlled origin and documented heavy-metal analyses.

When should panax ginseng be taken, in the morning or in the evening?

The recommended daily dose is 2 capsules. Taking them in the first half of the day with a meal is advisable, as some people find ginseng activating when taken in the evening.

How long can panax ginseng be taken for?

Periods of use of two to three months followed by a break are common; longer-term regular use is equally possible.

Are the ingredients natural?

Yes. The ginsenosides come entirely from the multi-year ginseng root and are merely concentrated, not synthetically supplemented.

Can the capsule be opened?

Yes, that is perfectly possible. You can open the capsule and add the contents to water, juice or yoghurt, for example, if you find swallowing uncomfortable.

Does panax ginseng have side effects?

Panax ginseng is normally very well tolerated, and the product is also suitable for long-term use. Medical advice should be sought beforehand when taking blood-thinning or blood-sugar-lowering medication, or in the case of high blood pressure. Not suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or for children. Not recommended for people receiving antidiabetic treatment.

Remarks

  1. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is a preventive system for ensuring food safety that identifies and assesses potential hazards in production and minimizes them through targeted control measures. The seal refers to the manufacturing process.
  2. This is how the grade is calculated: Grade calculation based on star ratings: 5.00 - 4.50 Very good, 4.49 - 3.50 Good, 3.49 - 2.50 Satisfactory, 2.49 - 1.50 Sufficient, 1.49 - 1.00 Poor. For the verification of ratings, no authenticity check of customer reviews is carried out. The ratings are combined from different sources, such as mail-order pharmacies and online marketplaces.
