Zeolite (clinoptilolite) - the volcanic mineral with a lattice structure

  • Zeolite clinoptilolite is a natural mineral from the group of aluminosilicates. It forms over millions of years when volcanic ash reacts with alkaline water, and has a crystal lattice with microporous channels - a natural ion exchanger.

What is zeolite?

Zeolite is a natural mineral of volcanic origin from the group of aluminosilicates. The form used medically is called clinoptilolite: its crystal lattice has microporous channels that work like an ion exchanger and bind positively charged substances such as heavy metals and ammonium. Zeolite is not absorbed, but is excreted via the intestine together with the bound substances. In Green Naturals Detox Pure, zeolite is used as PMA-Zeolite® in medical device quality.

What is PMA-Zeolite®?

PMA-Zeolite® is clinoptilolite zeolite that is micronised and activated using the patented PMA process - creating a large, defined surface for binding pollutants. The raw material is classified as a medical device and has been investigated in randomised, placebo-controlled studies (Lamprecht et al., 2015; Petkov et al., 2021). Detox Pure contains 410 mg PMA-Zeolite® per capsule, i.e. 1,230 mg per intake of 3 capsules.

What is zeolite good for?

Detox Pure is a medical device for targeted detoxification of the intestine: PMA-Zeolite® helps to eliminate harmful substances in the intestine, binds heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic, chromium and nickel) and ammonium in the gastrointestinal tract and eliminates them via the stool. How can I detox my gut?

Zeolite works in the intestine: heavy metals and ammonium that enter the gastrointestinal tract via food, water or the environment are bound there before they are absorbed, and are excreted with the stool. Detox Pure thus enables targeted intestinal detoxification - without the mineral itself passing into the bloodstream. Drinking enough water, eating fibre and getting exercise additionally support excretion.

How does a zeolite detox cure work?

A detox cure with Detox Pure lasts at least 12 weeks: take 3 capsules 2-3 times a day with meals with a glass of water (at least 100 ml). The zeolite enters the gastrointestinal tract with food, binds heavy metals and ammonium there and is excreted via the intestine. One can of 100 capsules covers 11 to 16 days of intake - for the complete cure, plan on 6 to 8 cans. In case of recurrent stresses, use can be continued beyond this. Which zeolite is the best?

Pay attention to three things: the type of zeolite (clinoptilolite is the form investigated in studies), a defined processing method (for PMA-Zeolite®, the patented micronisation and activation process) and the product status. Only a medical device may carry an intended purpose such as heavy metal binding or strengthening the intestinal wall barrier - zeolite sold as a food supplement, cosmetic or animal feed may not. In addition, every batch should be independently lab-tested for purity so that the zeolite itself does not introduce any heavy metals.

Zeolite capsules or powder - which is better?

Capsules are precisely dosed (exactly 410 mg per capsule), do not need to be mixed and do not create any mineral dust - according to the safety instructions, zeolite must not be inhaled. Powder is usually cheaper per gram, but less precise in dosing, less practical in everyday life and on the go, and tastes chalky to many users. For a detox cure lasting several weeks, the capsule is therefore the more reliable form.

Does zeolite have side effects?

There are no known side effects apart from occasional constipation. Anyone prone to chronic constipation should bear this in mind and make sure to drink enough fluids - at least one glass of water per intake. Discontinue use if you notice an unexpected effect. As zeolite is not absorbed, it does not accumulate.

Can I take Detox Pure together with medication?

To avoid adverse interactions, take Detox Pure and medication 2 hours apart - the medication first, unless otherwise prescribed. Is Detox Pure a food supplement?

No. Detox Pure is a 100% natural medical device. Can the capsules be opened?

We recommend swallowing the capsules whole with sufficient water. PMA-Zeolite® is a very fine mineral powder which, according to the safety instructions, must not be inhaled - which is exactly why the cellulose capsule is the safest and most precisely dosed form. If you find capsules difficult to swallow, take them one at a time with a large sip of water at mealtimes.

Is the product completely natural?

Yes. Detox Pure contains only PMA-Zeolite® from natural clinoptilolite volcanic rock and a plant-based cellulose capsule - without fillers, flow agents such as magnesium stearate, colourings or preservatives. The product is vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free.

Is Detox Pure suitable during pregnancy?

No. As there are not yet sufficient data available, its use cannot be recommended for pregnant and lactating women or for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Keep the can out of reach of children under 6 years of age and close it after each use.
